Volunteers Needed
Volunteer are needed now for the following positions:
- Postering – We have beautiful
posters waiting to be put up all over Ottawa & Hull.
Please collect a stack and put them up at your work
place, school, community centre, grocery store or
church.
- Lantern Maker – Come and
join our lantern elves who are making sure that we
have 200 lanterns for the night of the festival.
Make lanterns out of jars, balloons or bamboo and
tissue paper. We have a wide variety of tissue paper
in every colour and pattern. Then decorate the lanterns
with ribbon, glitter, shiny stickers.
- Site Decorator – Assist
on event day by helping to decorate the Lumière
site. Create enchanting lantern trees, figure out
how to anchor floating lanterns in the river or prepare
the fairy grotto for Tangle Goblinwand.
- Festival Promoters – We
need 5 people to promote the festival on August 19th
in the Bytown Market. Carry stunning lit lanterns
and hand out brochures. Volunteers under the age
of 17 must be accompanied by an adult.
- Pagoda Path volunteers – Help
prepare and construct a magical route path out of
Chinese take away containers.
- Lantern making table assistant – Help
children and adults make their own lantern on the
night of the festival.
- Face painters – Paint magical
and enchanting images on children and adults. Some
experience preferred.
- Performers – We are still
looking for acoustic musicians to help create a delightful
Lumière event.
- Fire Safety – Be responsible
for setting up the fire safety equipment and signage
along the Lumière route.
