We welcome your participation; Every lantern made
will help Ottawa shine!
The best way to participate in the Lumiere Festival
is to make your own lantern. We offer a variety of
ways for you to be creative:
- Attend a lantern making workshop at
the Crichton Cultural Community Centre
- Call us to arrange a facilitated lantern
making workshop for your BBQ, summer camp,
office party, bridal shower, sleep over or any
other social gathering.
- We have lantern making kits available
at the CCCC. These kits come with all the supplies
you require (except for white glue), instructions
and even an email address for if you need some help.
LANTERN MAKING WORKSHOPS
Please, pre-register for workshops by calling
745-2742 (CRIC) or emailing cccc@bellnet.ca.
Workshops take place at the Crichton
Cultural Community Centre - 2nd floor, 200 Crichton
Street. Please use the rear entrance on Avon Lane.
General workshops are open from 10:30 to 4 pm. Please
allow yourself 2-3 hours to make a star lantern and
1 hour to make jar and balloon lanterns.
General Lantern Making Workshops (10:30-4:00
pm)
These workshops are open to all ages! Learn how to
make your own paper or jar lantern in preparation for
the Lumière Festival. Children of any can make
a lantern just for themselves.
Cost: $10-$40, dependent on lantern selected

Sunday July 17, 24, 30 August 7, 14
Daily from August 15 to August 20
Geometric Shape Lanterns (4:30-8:00
pm)
This workshop is for children (10 years +) and adults
who want to design a geometric shape lantern.
Cost: $7-15
Thursday July 28, Tuesday August 2, 16,
Large Lantern Installation Workshop (4:30-8:00
pm)
Come and help create a large lantern installation
with the installation team. Children over 12 years
are welcome to attend with a participating adult.
Cost: $5 per person
Tuesday July 26 and Tuesday August 2, 16,
FACILITATED LANTERN MAKING WORKSHOPS
To help fund and promote Lumière 2005 we are
pleased to offer you facilitated lantern making workshops.
We offer a variety of lantern types, making this activity
accessible for all ages and artistic abilities. Workshops
can be held at your location or at the Crichton Cultural
Community Centre (www.crichtonccc.ca).

Costs include all supplies and Lumière staff facilitation. LANTERN MAKING KITS
We offer lantern making kits for star and pyramid lanterns. These beautifully
packaged kits are a great activity to do at home and they make terrific gifts.
We can also prepare lantern making supplies (for star, jar and balloon lanterns)
for organizations who wish to have their own lantern making workshops.
