Adam Duncan

Adam Duncan has been part of the Ottawa music scene for over 14 years. He has gained many accolades from all whom have taught and played with him. Adam has played with all of the known Ottawa musicians t such as the late Larry the Bird, Maria Hawkins, Drew Nelson, Trevor Finley, Tony D, Frank James Band, Horace Hogan, Scotty Doubt; and headlined all of the major Ottawa venues with different bands many times over.

Adam has also performed at all of the major festivals, and fundraisers, as a soloist and in many bands over the years as well. Adam has been a featured artist on many Ottawa radio and television stations many times throughout the years. He's recorded many CD's with several bands, and his music has been credited to a few independent films.

Adam Duncan has also written three published books on guitar playing, and has composed many articles on request for various magazines and internet sites.

INDIAN CLASSICAL MUSIC (ICM) Adam Duncan first taught himself to play the sitar, and then by streak of luck, met Ustad Shahid Parvez. Ustad Shahid Parvez is a world renowned sitarist and is hailed as possibly the greatest sitarist ever. Fortunately enough, Adam has been learning from Ustadji for the past five years.

Adam Duncan was the Sitar School of Toronto’s Ottawa administrator for over 4 years, and has organised workshops with some of the world’s most acclaimed ICM artists through his own Ottawa Guitar and Sitar school. Adam has had the good fortune of performing for Ottawa’s High Commissioner of India on a few occasions. He also taught himself how to speak Hindi to better understand the music.

Past performances:

Tulip Festival, Bluesfest, Inaugural concert for the Canadian Society for Indian Classical Music with world famous tabla player Pandit Samir Chatterjee, CKCU and CHUO live broadcasts, Ottawa University, Toronto, Boston, Montreal, every live music venue in Ottawa over the past 14 years etc……..
