Xin Hua Dance Troupe

Established in 1999, is a non-profit performing arts group, affiliated with Xinhua Chinese Language School of Ottawa. Xin Hua Dance Troupe are dedicated to promoting cultural awareness and personal and community enrichment by means of traditional Chinese dancing.

They specialize in various styles of Chinese folk dances, such as classical and modern folk dance, minority nationality dance, as well as northern Chinese waist drum dance. Xin Hua Dance Troupe also showcases traditional and contemporary Chinese fashions and brings Chinese dance, music and costumes to various cultural and charitable events and festivals. Their performances not only entertain but also create awareness of the diversity and beauty of Chinese culture.

Xin Hua Dance Troupe regular practice, which combines basic ballet and Chinese folk dance training, is held every Saturday from 10:00 AM – 12:00 AM at the Xinhua Chinese Language School, 704 Carson Rd, Ottawa.
