The Evening of Light featureD the work of the Windows Collective, a group of six Ottawa artists who create independent films. The presentation of cinema was a natural fit for Lumiere as film uses light to reveal its images.  The Windows Collectivesunique films were specially created for this years festival.  Their installations included bike powered projectors, projecting images onto smoke, a praxinoscope that used camera images to tell a story and much more. The collective’s use of light left our visitors spellbound!

Lumiere celebrated it’s 10th year anniversary  with a Labyrinth using over 1000 lights which invited guests to work their way through the maze to the birthday surprise inside!  The Festival was also proud to present visual art installations from five local visual artists, Rachelle Carrier, Luc-Anne Salm, Natalie Bourdeau- Legris, Jessica Aylsworth and Steven Artelle.  These new installations were presented along side the hundreds of other lanterns and light installations that light the park each year at the Celebration of Light.  Imagination and creativity was at its best!  We thank all who joined us for the official lighting of the candles!
